Update from the President

The club-rooms are a hive of activity with work being done by Alan and Malcolm and the ‘Valentine’ team on getting ‘Valentine’ ready for the next exhibition.

Not to be outdone Murray and his team of workers are very busy also getting ‘East Guildford’ ready for the next exhibition in the workshop area.

If that isn’t enough the first layout rooms has two layouts being worked on. ‘O Scale Switching’ layout is being worked even while Danny is away on work duties.

The ‘Medley’ layout is really coming along and after a discussion with Bill on Saturday it will be a layout along with the others from AMRA WA going to the next exhibition that we will all be proud of.

Saturday the 28th we had our first Club BBQ for sometime and it was also the Christmas BBQ. There were almost 30 members and partners/wives there and our magnificent volunteer chef cooked the meat and onions to perfection. Thank you James. This having gone well means I feel, that as of January 2021 we can reinstate the monthly club BBQs. So put the last Saturday evening in your calendars for a BBQ at the club-rooms.

Thanks to Barb and Ron Romero for collecting and delivering ALL the food for a successful Christmas BBQ.

The holding of the AGM for 2020 was discussed at the November Management Committee meeting. The opinion of the committee is with postpone the AGM until we can have the meeting at our club-rooms. This will happen after the State Government rescinds the ‘2metre Rule’. We will keep the members informed as information becomes available.

I would like to welcome Beth Hewitt onto the Management Committee. Beth has kindly agreed to help on the committee and assist Don in the role as ‘Assistant Treasurer’. Beth brings with her a wealth of experience in this area.
